According to a recent article on Mashable, many of the top start-ups of 2014 involve the Internet and technology. Customized ecommerce, education technology and mobile app development were all near the top of the list, with the number one start-up being a fairly new concept called the Internet of Things (IoT). The “thing” in this scenario can be a person, animal or object with special monitors that allow communication without human-to-human or human-to-computer contact.
